Marian in "Die Welt":

http://www.welt.de/kultur/article110...Pop-Traum.html

This stood out from this for me:

"I write constantly and already have enough songs together for the next album - which will maybe come out next year."

OK, who's taking bets on the date???

[smile2] It would be pretty big miracle if it really came out next year.

Very nice interview with Marian on the website of the German news channel n-tv:

http://www.n-tv.de/leute/musikundfil...le2003006.html

It's all in German (as usual) but it's a nice, sensitive interview and has some funny moments.

Willy gets a mention as he bought this guy a beer at the party! In return, the guy links to this forum!

Oh, this is not nice:

http://www.tagesspiegel.de/kultur/po...n/3315528.html

Our series "The most pointless comebacks in music history" continues this week. This time, with the participation of the Berlin band Alphaville and their album "Catching Rays on Giant". In the 80s they were part of the most interesting things that German electropop had to offer, delivered veritable hits with "Forever Young", "Jet Set" and "Sounds like A Melody" and could surprisingly, even up to the present day, be impressive live.
But what Alphaville have released on their new album is miles away from the attributes "interesting" or "surprising". A few current sound gimmicks mixed with thickly applied pop pathos and German melancholy are far from making a record that invites you to listen repeatedly. And by the way: The cover does not do.

They have no taste. ;)

Nah, seriously, I expected such a reaction from quite a few people, actually. It IS questionable whether it is a wise idea to publish such a "mainstream" album. But then, had they made a non-mainstream album, people would've called it "eccentric" (in a bad way).

The cover IS rather irritating, though, I gotta grant them that. lol
