Alphaville in the Press
I've not seen a thread dedicated to Alphaville in newspapers and magazines so, now the interest in Alphaville is starting again and having found this article, I thought it might be a good idea to start one. When I and other fans in Germany find any new articles about AV, we could post clippings here.
Not sure if it's in today's Bild newspaper as I don't have it yet, but it's certainly on their website: http://www.bild.de/BILD/unterhaltung...ren-pause.html And a very nice pic of Marian, who really looks well and seems to have lost a LOT of weight. Interesting part of the article - Marian says they are going on a BIG tour in Germany next year!! Köln???? ABER..."Comeback nach 13 Jahren Pause"??? EDIT: the original clipping from today's newspaper (thanks to a post on the German forum): http://forum.alphaville.nu/uploads/av_comeback_001.jpg

http://www.bild.de/BILD/regional/ruh...geschaeft.html Translation: Berlin/Münster - Alphaville is back after 13 years! It could be an intense comeback... The band (Forever Young, Big In Japan), which was founded in 1983 in Münster, today release the new single "I Die For You today". Singer Marian Gold (56), the only original founding member from 27 years ago still in the band, is looking forward to the comeback: "It is a knockout single! And it will be a great tour next year." After 1997, everything "Alphaville" was very quiet. They only undertook an internet project and only sang their old songs - but now the four boys would like to start all over again. But has Alphaville changed? Marian Gold: "We sang Forever Young, but I've definitely grown older and changed - as has the way I make music also. But we have always stayed true to our style all these years." Today, Gold lives in Berlin and London - but he looks back fondly on Münster. Marian Gold to Bild: "It was a great time, very inspirational. We wrote our best songs in Münster." His goal is to build on those times: "We were very successful from the outset. So it is difficult now to top that. But I willingly accept the challenge and won't give up."

Great topic! Since hardly anyone knows alphaville here in Finland, it's great to see what they are written about in other countries!! And thanks for translation!

Kaz, thanks for the translation.
I Like this phrase: "We were very successful from the outset. So it is difficult now to top that. But I willingly accept the challenge and won't give up." Nunca te arrepientas de lo que hagas. Arrepiéntete de lo que no has hecho. [kitty] |
