Mateusz: A similar thing happened to me. Before I got married, my last name was Campbell. When I was in school, I decided that it probably derived from something like "campo" and "bello" and so my last name meant "beautiful country." I knew my name was Scottish, and maybe the Romans had some Latinizing effect on the language. But then I grew up and kept reading, and realized that my name actually means "crooked mouth," and specifically is a term to describe "harelip". I know that's a weird word in English--see if you can get a translation. Fabulous, no?

Maybe its just a coincidence, but there is a flower called "Marigold". Or is the flower named after him?
Either way, I think that's a nice thought to his name origins. Up there is a picture of Marigolds, by the way.

Reason: (there was more than one marigold.)
