Mesh !!!

WOOOOOWWWWWWW - got the CD today (thanks Tara): This is so fu*** good that I canīt stop listening to it. The songs are really, really great. My favorites are "Not Prepared", "Waves", "You didnīt want me" and "This without you", but all the songs are good. This is probably the best not well known band Iīve ever heard. Iīm so excited, that Iīm considering a news on alphaville.org about this (even though itīs not alphaville related), but who cares? Every AV/DM fan will love Mesh, I also see a little OMD in their style, but they have their own sound, and thatīs rare in synthpop (in my opinion). Too many bands wants to sound exactly like DM, and thatīs not very original, but Mesh !!!!!! man, I love it ! |

It is the mesh singer who sings Waves Avil (Mark Hockings)
And Willy - I'm so glad you love the CD!! That's EXACTLY How I felt wheh I got their first two albums. I was ABSOLUTELY floored. That would be great if you put up something about it in the news section. Lke I said, it's all about exposure right? Anyways, I'd love to chat but I have to be off to work! Tara : Þ P.S - Stefan if you read this, I got your package last night! Thanks so much!! I'll write you when I get home : ) |

I received som info from MESH - read it below:
Is it May already? 2001 is certainly flying by at the moment so before it gets too hot to be interested in anything other than drinking beer in an overpopulated pub garden we thought we'd drop you a line. First things first. A London gig on 9th June. On Saturday 9th June we are headlining at the "The Garage" 20/22 Highbury Corner, London. The move to the larger venue follows our previous two sell out gigs at the Camden Underworld. Long term fans will know that our UK gigs are only slightly more frequent than General Elections. The gig will see us perform several of the new songs we've been writing this year, a couple for the first time ever. It will also be a chance to see/buy the new mesh t-shirt (more later). Ticket sales are going very well so we'd recommend swift action if you want to catch the show. Hope to see you there. Tickets are available as follows:- Credit Card Hotline: 01905 773549 Tickets Ģ8:50 Adv from 'Flag Promotions', PO Box 181, Wembley, HA0 4BE or Enclose SAE - Resurrection Records, 225 Camden High St or Stargreen on 020 7734 8932 or TicketMaster (24hr) 020 7734 0044 Other forthcoming gigs elsewhere in europe are:- June 30th - Holland - Arnhem, Willemeen Festival. More info at www.xtreactor.nl or www.willemeen.nl or +31 (0)26 4426021 August 4th - Belgium - Neerpelt, Open Air Eurorock - www.eurorock.be September 2nd - Germany - Hildesheim Mera Luna Open Air (Marilyn Manson headlining) What else have we been doing? Recording Since the beginning of the year we have been working full time on mesh. That's right - we no longer have "real jobs" and must now pay for food, mortgages, beer and child support etc using nothing other than the power of mesh. Are we "committed musicians with belief in their music" or plain "fools"? You may well ask. But through our deal and relationship with Orbit Records we have our best opportunity ever to make the most of mesh. So since January we have been spending most of our time in the studio writing and recording for the next album & singles. To date we have completed 10 tracks (almost 11...) that we really believe is some of our best work ever. We performed some of the tracks for the first time recently in Germany where they received a brilliant response. We will continue writing for the next couple of months and then for the first time we will likely do the final production/mixing in an outside studio with a view to finishing the album by the end of the Summer. Subject to record company release schedules the first single should follow shortly thereafter. Collaboration with Mark'Oh The "Waves" single project with German DJ Mark'Oh gave us our first German chart entry, making it to number 83. Just 82 places from that elusive number one spot. While clearly it would have been great to get higher, it was a great experience that also gave us a very useful insight into the world of major record labels and the hard work/frustration that surrounds the promotion of a release. Afterwards all involved agreed that it makes sense for both Mark'Oh and mesh to concentrate on what they do best rather than risk coming up with a musical compromise. Everyone is happy with this decision and there are no plans for a future collaboration. Mark'Oh is currently planning a club tour and you can find out more on his website at http://www.markoh.com. America In March we went to America to do some promotion including 3 gigs in Chicago, New York and Orlando to follow up the release of The Point at Which it Falls on metropolis records. We had three great gigs especially in New York where we were knocked out by the response - possibly one of our best gigs ever! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success and we hope to be back again later in the year. Our sight-seeing wasn't quite so successful as we managed to lose Mark at the top of the Empire State Building. At least he wasn't molested by a huge gorilla. Ge |

Alright guys - time to dig out the Mesh thread. Mesh's new album is coming out in April!!
I have the album and it is amazing stuff!! It is funny cause the first few times I heard it it didn't catch me right away but now - aack, I LOVE it! My fav tracks are: Little Missile Leave You Nothing Friends like These Four Walls Firefly The album is called "Who Watches Over Me?" and get this! I get to see Mesh live finally after 5 years!! They are coming to Toronto for the synth fest!! (well it isn't confirmed yet but mesh said they were "finalizing" the date..) YYEEEEEAH! I like this album better than The Point at Which it Fallas Apart. This album is a return to Mesh's more aggresive roots. Anyways, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Has anyone else heard it? I know Avil has! Tara :) |
