David..we already have a 3" CD single called "Alphaville". And I don´t think AV will use that as an album title.

20 years is a good name. But don´t you think that it would be better for some kind of greatest hits released in 2002? I´m not saying that I want a greatest hits album, just that the title is better for an album of their best songs from the past 20 years!

There´so many possibilties but I for one think it´s impossible to suggest one that fits the album when I don´t know the songs that are going to be on it.

But AV inspired album titles could be something like:

Songs for Dolphins
Mysterious
Fantasy/Phantasy
Land of fantasy

I for one really like "Mysterious". But I´m sure there´s more suggestions to come.....

I think this is a really hard topic!
I mean, you never know what AV chooses!
Just see Marian´s last album, United, he had planned to called it Untitled (you know, lack of fantasy:) It can be named after a song on the new album, it can be anything!

Yeah you´re right Avil...it can be anything. But I don´t think it´ll be named after one of the songs on the album. After FY and AIU Alphaville stopped naming their album after a song on the album, so therefore I don´t think they´ll do it again.

But if you take a look at the titles since then most of them have been a single word which have all been words with a deeper meaning (in my opinion anyway). So chances are that they are gonna choose a one-word-title again, but still nothing is certain when it comes to AV. I just believe that the possibility of yet another one-word-title is the most likely one. So it could be words like:
Mysterious
Fantasy
Prophecy
Freedom

Mysterious is still my favourite - I think it´s very Alphavillish!!

Hey all,

For the DS9 album, i'm fond of the suggested "Web site story" as co-title.

For the new album i agree with the people who favour a one-word title following the tradition of Prostitute, Salvation and the wonderful Dreamscapes.
Something like the alreay mentioned Imagination or Confidence.

The reason I want Alphaville to make a tribute - even though there are a lot of them, There are too many bad tributes, However in 83 British band Blancmange, made a good cower of "The Day Before You Came". They did it well, But I think Alphaville would do it even better. Also I do agree with you people, Having Marion singing Mamma Mia, would be a joke. BUT there are songs he realy would do great... I think Trent would love it, if Marion did sing Gimme! Gimme! A man after midnight...Trent would go....Here I am

The reason that I don´t find Miracle Healing a good name for the new album is because it´s done. There already is a song called "Miracle Healing". There is a tour called "Miracle Healing". Tours are usually named after songs and album titles are usually named after songs...that's very very common...when bands name a tour from an album title they are trying to promote that album...

yes, but then it´s usually a tour just to follow up a new album release. "Miracle Healing" is a song, released last year, but it´s in the past. Sure the name of the tour is perfect... But I just can´t connect it with the NEW studio album, not yet released, not knowing when it´s going to be released. "Miracle Healing", DS9 and the tour is NOW. The new studio album is LATER. I don´t think you should connect them.

No..."Miracle Healing" WASN'T released last year...it was put up on the web as a special treat for AV fans to hear...but it is a demo like all the other Dreamscapes songs...did you think that DS9 songs would only be on DS? And it's not totally unheard of for a band to have a tour before they release an album to promote it

I thought that DS9 was a working title for the next studioalbum? And put up on the web as a sneak prewiew for the fans? About the DS9 on Alphaville german site it sais that this album is in preparation.And therefor it should be realsied, with the name Miracle Healing:) They better hurry up, I can't wait much longer for this great cd to appear, and also make sure it will be realised in Norway! :-)

Yes, I know. "released" was the wrong word.
And I´m very sure that this tour not is for promoting a forthcomming album. I just feel that the whole Miracle Healing thing is NOW. We don´t even know WHEN the new studio album will be released. And when it´s released I strongly feel that the time had come to move on from what have been. Therefor naming the album Miracle Healing wouldn´t be to look ahead, it would be to struggle backwards.

This is what I last heard - that there will be two studio albums. One, the DS9 album, which is supposed to have more than one disc in it which is studio versions of all the DS9 websongs plus some extra material. Then, there was supposed to have been an additional studio album.

My thoughts were that the DS9 album was a special release of polished demos while the other studio album was the regular release which would have singles, etc.

They will both be polished up in the studio, but the DS9 album is a special release for the fans, probably not promoted or available in stores like the regular studio album will be.

At least this is what I think is going on - but they surely have not been forthcoming on the official website as to what is actually happening??? So who really knows? All we know is that DS9 is in preparation, and is now delayed.... and that the tour is named after one of the DS9 tracks...

Now here is food for thought.... perhaps Miracle Healing made it onto the new regularly released album in something more than the website released demo version????

as it seems dreamscapes#9 is all we can expect for the next future. In an interview on the german e-pop magazine e-lectric Marian told about "songs from the new album" and mentioned most of the DS9 songs. So it seems that its gonna be nothing but a polished DS9...and without songs originally written with Bernhard.

I think "Captain's Log" would make a nice title. There's a lot of travelling going on in Alphaville's music, both inner and outer journeys and the music is a kind of a log book of what's going on in the composer's mind. It's a weird title....but lets see if it actually become the album title....a lot of working titles stay exactly like that....working titles....not the finished title...

My first thought when I heard the title was a cat trying to catch a small light flickering on a wall....but a wall can't exactly be called a "Giant". But what if Marian is the giant and the cat is trying to catch the ray from the sun shining on a watch or something and that ray is pointed at Marian....

i don`t have much ideas what the album title could mean, but i think, the name "catching rays on giant" is a bit to long,,because if the album comes to the stores (i still hope so), then there have to be a short album title..easy to remember for the people...but this is my opionion.. :-)
