Don´t be so sure of that, Avil.

I have heard the clips on the Atlantic Popes website and I´m not the least impressed by the singer, but it is Bernhard Lloyd´s music so I can´t just forget all about it. I will give it a chance. But I will wait until I hear what other AV fans think about the album before I will consider buying it.

I got my copy today!!
Want to know my first impression?
I had listened to these clips on the Altantic Popes homepage, so I didn´t expect too much.

My first view went to the booklet and there you can find some well-known names:
Jocelyn B. Smith did the backing vocals on one song, same as Jayney Klimek (on another one).
Mr. Schwarz-Ruszcynski played guitars on several tracks and the nicest surprise of all: Mr. Gold himself sang backing vocals on one track. I didn´t know before, that Marian also took part in this project.
I wish he would have done the whole singing on this album!

I will sure still need some time, to get used to this Barry-White-wannabe Max Holler. I do have some problems with his voice.
The music is very similar to Alphaville on most songs, this is really good.
Let´s just take the song "Flying", the music is powerful, it sounds almost like Astral Body. And it is one of the few songs, in which Mr. Holler´s voice is not as much in the front as on many others. This can only be good!

The best songs on this album are these, which Bernhard wrote together with Mr. Holler. What a pity, that there are only three: World, Freedom and That´s all (which we know already from Dreamscapes).
The best songs, which are not written by Bernhard, are Ice and Flying.
The rest sounds more or less the same to me. Nothing really impressing and wouldn´t it be for Bernhard, I would put this CD soon aside.
Maybe it gets better, when I´ve listened more often to it? These are just my first impressions and they can change, when I heard the CD some more times.

On a scale from 1 - 6, where 1 is the best and 6 the worst, I would give this CD a 3+.

Anybody else got it today? I would like to hear other oppinions!

that is so cool !!!
it shows that Gold and Lloyd still work together and also help each other.

and Bernd is Bernd.
Mr. Lloyd told me that he and Marian like to take brakes sometimes and work on other projects.
after all these years they HAVE to do it :)

WOW
I got my AtlanticPopes-CD yesterday. I have been listening to it the whole night.
And I must say: It´s absolutely GREAT.
It becomes better and better every time you hear it, like most of the AV-CD´s (Prostitute for instance).
The singer for sure sounds different.
A complete different style from Marian, and it´s so different that you can not really compare it. But I really must say Max Holler´s voice is very sexy...yeah there is a very erotic touch to it. And if you really want to compare it, it doesn´t sound like Barry White at all, it´s more like Bryan Ferry. And Bernhards music fits perfectly to it. Well, Ican only say, this CD is the number one on my personal list for the next few weeks.
p.s. : I was really astonished, that I got the CD 2 days after I payed in advance :-))

It´great to be here, and hear your opinions
and to discuss it.
I would love to hear more....
A short remark, to what you said so far:
While I was working on this project, I never came to the idea to compare the voices of Marian and Max. They are very different indeed. For me it´s a question of taste, not a question of quality. They are both fantastic in their range. And i´m happy that I could and can work with these 2 singers.
I would be glad to here more critics.

By the way, the sound samples on www.atlantipopes.de are of very low soundquality, but we decided to give you fast excess to the music...
Soundqualitywise I consider this production,
the best I´ve done so far.

I got my AP CD today and its great !!!
I LOVE it !
the music is fantastic, Max Holler's voice is not bad (not my taste but it sounds good with the music) and the artwork is very nice !

@all: it´s right, the AtlanticPopes-Cd is available at www.adifferentdrum.com and very soon at www.hotstuff.se .For all those who are creditcardholders, i would recommend to get the Cd at those shops,because it is probably cheaper than ordering it at our webpage.
