AV have made some vidoes...why not discuss them...? What do people think about them...? Should there be new vidoes...?
Musicvideos are very important nowadays. A really good musicvideo can lead to a "breakthrough".
But I think that AV more or less have "given up" becoming BIG STARS. In the eyes of us "hardcore fans" they are BIG STARS and I think that is what they want. A solid group of faithful fans, that´s what we are.

But still if they had proper promotion and the right musicvideo they can make songs good enough to be BIG HITS.

anyway, i love their old video clips.
i havent seen all of them but i love BIJ and i think that SENSATIONS is brilliant !
i guess they can make videos now too but that depends on their will...

How about the video to the song "Soul Messiah"??? I heard somewhere that AV was making a video to that song...but after that it was no no more info about that. Was it just a idea or was the video really made?? Someone?

yeah, the video was made, but apparently it wasn´t very good, so it was never published. It was filmed in Salt Lake City last year.

Hey, Poul...they DO make songs that are good enough to be big hits...it's just that the average streamlined mtv-hooked listener is so dumb, they don't recognize quality when they hear it.
NOONE makes betters songs than Alphaville.
Almost ALL of their songs deserve to be in the number one position, although, some songs are a bit...special...so they would never get there. (montego bay...LOL)
My fave is the other side of u...right now that is. :)

I have seen almost every video AV have made...And I think that the people hos has´nt even seen FY...That´s tooo bad...

The Forever Young (mix) video is quite the same, but the song is mixed within the video sequences.

yes that is good news then I don't have to worry about digitizing all of those videos I have!!! Would be nice to have an official dvd collection of all of them for sure!!!
Well, as Claudia said, it's just legal matters, not a matter of if AV WANT to release a dvd/vhs/something. If WEA just could take the finger out of their a** and start doing something instead of just playing hard to catch.

Weird that VH1 offers Big In Japan, Jet Set, Red Rose, Forever Young, The Mysteries Of Love legally and for free, and not Moonbase. I think it's time the band recovers some rights on its own work, via Warner...

Tried to watch VH1.com videos but after the ads we now have : "Music videos are accessible in the US only. Please select another video or show". new stuff ! Anyway, I just wanted to check which label owned the rights (Atlantic Records).

Not really that strange. He might think it's great but I'm sure the music publishers don't and that's what counts. Just cos Marian likes it doesn't make it legal and those that upload these videos onto You Tube just might in the future get a little bit of legal hassle where it's not wanted.

Almost every video ever made is at You Tube so I don't think that will be an issue...

Couldn't agree more! Still doesn't make it legal though.
Once again, the problem is different according to what we talk about... videos made from records companies, or tv-rips...hopefully the band owns some concerts, like the one in Lebanon. And much more I guess.

If they ever sign with WEA again the company should release a videos dvd with extra stuff the way other stars from the 80's are doing. They include unseen footage from that time between video and video, that would be really great...also releasing the Libanon concert would be amazing...but maybe for the fact that it was half playback :S
As for the illegal and legal thing...it isn't illegal at all recording something from the TV so what's wrong about sharing it on internet? It hasn't and will never be released anyway! If these are things from DVD OK, if are TV shows is not illegal.

That was a german Tv reportage/interview with Alphaville about 1994(I´ve this one on VHS)... sadly, it give only this part. But what I know is that it give the full song without this video....
Does a proper copy of the Sensations video exist, besides the "pixelled" youtube one ?
