Every song has a special meaning.
There is something about them all. Take one of the latest for example; Scum of the earth.
There is some kind of disguss in that song.
Don´t you think so to?
A song you want to dedicate to a person who have done nothing good, and don´t want to do anything good either.

You dont have to ask - this song is obviously about someone who is really evil.
"and like your mother i curse the day of your birth, you're the scum of the earth..."
"you were born to KILL....."
Marian is disgussed by that person.

Well, I've actually been wondering if Marian is actually singing to an evil person, or if he is singing from the perspective of an evil person. My first impression was that he was singing from the perspective of, say a neonazi, in order to illuminate the hatred that they possess. But perhaps he is singing to them instead. The line about cursing the day of their birth is so strong though. I'm not sure I would even say that to my worst enemies, although I confess I come close when it comes to my exhusband!

marian, i would to know your opinion about haider in austria. does this situation influence in some of your last songs? and you think it is a real return to the boots ("beethoven") or just a political-economic movement from us to weaken the european community?

to cut a long story short, i think haider is a pretty clever arsehole. i hate guys like him. but the by far more frightening part in this phenomenon play those social currents, which brought him up to the surface. it seems tobecome a kind of growing silent majority movement almost everywhere in europe and it has a lot of fascist aspects. i think fascism is the philosophy of the bottomless stupidity. funny that you asked: i have just written a song called: 'scum of the earth'. maybe i´ll put it on the web.

I love the song. It works well that the song is sung so softly but the lyrics are so angry. It makes it so much more effective. Gets the message across.

I understand the view, that its emotional accent is deep, still I don't like it.
Its lyrics are too striking.

(For some of you to know: Those german town names in the outro are obviously mentioned
because of neo-fascist attacks that had happened there...)

Sorry but for me, nothing beats the original and the atmosphere it creates.
Very important, 'Scum Of The Earth' is a great finished original track, so to me with this one it's as good as impossible to make a better atmosphere by adding some sound effects and beats and so on. The original song is very well done all over so the meaning with this remix were just to make an alternative 'beat' version since I thought it were possible!

Anyway, thanks for listen to it and give time to comment, good or bad it's always usefull [smile]
