How was the feeling when you boughy/got your first AV-album.
I remember I had forgotten about AV, when my mum bought me FY...This was autumn 98.
Now more than tree years later she really regrets that...
She played the song for me, and I knew which song it was at once. That was a great feeling. I had found my wat home...

I bought Forever young in 1990. I only knew Forever young and Big in Japan. And I wasent expecting a great album. Boy was I wrong. I instantly fell in love with tracks like Summer in Berlin, SLAM, Victory of Love, Fallen angel, and soon I loved the complete album, and thougt it was the best album ever produced. Within 2 weeks I bought BB and Utopia.

The rest is history...

I believe it was fall/winter 1985-1986. I'm pretty sure I was 15. I was driving around with a friend of mine one cold yet clear evening, and she had Afternoons in Utopia on. I remember instantly falling in love wtih Jersualem and Dance With Me. I went home and called up my boyfriend at the time who was always making tapes for me and I asked him if he'd ever heard of Alphaville, and he couldn't believe he hadn't made me any AV tapes yet. I went ahead and bought the vinyl albums and made my own- there was no way I could wait. Anyway, I remember feeling a strange sense of recognition, magic, of coming home, when I heard AV. It definitely struck a chord within me. Although for years I thought AIU came before FY, probably because that was the order in which I heard them. A couple of years later I let another friend borrow my AV albums. I don't think he was ever going to give them back! He even hung the sleeves up in his room-you know so he could always read the lyrics. Then his room caught on fire. I'm actually very lucky (and so is he because I would've killed him) that my albums escaped the fire relatively undamaged. The sleeves are slightly discolored due to smoke damage, but still readable! and AV's been there through my good moments, and carrying me through my dark ones, my constant travelling companion.
Well, I guess that's my boring AV story.

I bought my first AV record 1995. I remember I was so disapointed that album "Prostitute" I was looking for that kind of songs like "BIJ", "FY", "SLAM" etc. There wasn`t that kind of songs, but after many time listening I was sold.

Well, the first AV-album I heard was FY, and it was my cousins cd...well, I listened to it, and of course I loved FY, SLAM and BIJ then, which I had already heard, but didn't care so much about the other songs because I was so exited about those three...but, a few months later being at my moms place, I rememberd seeing the FY-vinyl in her collection, went to look for it and found it. Then, as I decided to still listen to the other songs, it suddenly struck me while listening, that how on earth could I've missed the beauty of such songs (as for example SIB and FA which at that very moment became my all-time faves)...
...still now while listening to that vinyl (which BTW is the one I ripped off from my moms collection ), I think the songs sound much better than on cd...strange huh??...so what might finally have opened up my eyes was the golden sound of classical vinyl ...
