How's the speed of this forum compared to other sites ?

A little technical poll before I change webhost, I voted ok.

Reason is that Google Site performance reports:

On average, pages in your site take 7.3 seconds to load (updated on Jan 19, 2010). This is slower than 86% of sites.

I'm not sure about how accurate this report is, but we'll see. Please vote, thanks [wink]

For me the forum works extremely fast...many other sites that I use are far slower.

Yeah, it works fine for me too, but let's see what people vote, if most people vote fast and ok, we have nothing to worry about and Google is wrong, but let's see. Speed really depends on where you are and how good your connection is to the server.

I voted OK. It works fine for me too. The only annoyance when it comes the speed though, is the whole 10 second-thing between searches. But obviously that is another matter.

The two other forums I usually visit (one much smaller and one much bigger) are by far slower than this one. :)

Works fine for me. Although I have pretty fast connection at home, so that's not limiting anything. Different thing is of course if your servers are too old [smile]

I voted fast ... compared to some other sites [cant name it for 'legal' reasons] which wont open at lunchtime when half the office is online - no probs with this one.

This one goes fast enough for me, whichever comp I'm using!

One site I visit used to be pretty fast as well. Then, once they went Beta, it just slowed things down on our old comp, to where it would take 10 seconds or so to load the whole [insert expletive here] thing!

But this is great!

Great, seems like Google is wrong, I will wait to get a little more votes then report this to Google through their webmaster forum, but please vote if you haven't already.

Google is definitely wrong. It never takes more than two or three seconds to load any page. (Chat takes longer for me, because it opens a new browser window, but the difference doesn't reach 7 seconds).

Btw... The forum used to have a legend that said how long each page had taken to load... maybe if you put the feature back we'd be able to tell how long it takes for each of us... [?]
