My favourite TFF song is "Change",because of its oriental electronic melody line.

Watch out for Roland Orzabal's new album out this March 2001!! Check out the canadian Tears For Fears page for details. I love TFF as well. Roland is a very underestimated songwriter unfortunately.

Mine is "Head Over Heels" I love that song...I can play it all day and never tire of it
Something happens and I'm head over heels
I never find out till I'm head over heels
Something happens and I'm head over heels
Ah don't take my heart
Don't break my heart
Don't throw it away....

And this my four leaf clover
I'm on the line, one open mind
This is my four leaf clover....

In My minds eye...Funny how times flys...

I love the words to that one

"When I close my eyes, I see my soul...When I open them, I see yours"...

For those who want to know the fantastic music from TFF. They've released a best off CD some years ago with all their masterworks.
I especially love the beautiful 'Woman in Chains'
A best off album that's worth buying IMO

I HIGHLY recommend Roland's new album "Tomcats Screaming Outside" It is AMAZING. I would say it is one of the best albums of last year. You can check out his page at www.rolandorzabal.co.uk. Roland was the one who defined the TFF sound (curt was a posterboy) so it is basically TFF but a little evolved.

Roland has always been underestimated and it's sad. But yes, totally check out his solo album!

Tara :)

Hoho, when I heard the first sample from this album I was like, holy shit what is this crap, but then the others were pretty good, a bit Savage Garden over it.

whats the name of this guy... Gary Jules and Michael Andrews... its a big hit in the UK... they want to go on stage with TFF soon to perform that song together. I red this in a paper last week. I will scan the report in and will send it to willy.. was very interesting about TFF and why they did not do things for a long time...

Tears For Fears, the duo originally behind Mad World have announced they're reuniting in 2004. A new album on Arista Records called Everybody Loves A Happy Ending is due out in the Spring.

Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal enjoyed even more success Stateside than they did in Britain during the 80s, after having two American Number Ones with Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule The World.

Singer Smith left in 1990, after a bust up with partner Orzabal and a costly third album - but the pair patched up their differences and have been working together in LA for two years on Everybody Loves A Happy Ending.

Mad World's come at a good time for Tears For Fears, and Curt told 6 Music their first single in 13 years will be Closest Thing To Heaven.

A UK and US tour will follow which may include the pair "covering" Gary Jules' version of their song Mad World!

When I first heard this cover I wasn;t too keen but then it ended up growing on me - reminds me of Eric Satie's piano pieces a bit. I'm sure I heard a more upbeat version too with a drum machine behind the piano - anyone else heard this or am I dreaming?

Alphaanni
20 Jan 2004, 18:50
@Kaz: you did not dream. of course they have also a drum version...

Two days ago I came to hear "Everybody Loves A Happy End" for the
first time.
I guess, I don't get their humour: To me it's just a highly polished band pretending to be The Beatles (full of rip-offs).
A terrible come-down of a former great band!

I am listening to the "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending"-album again and again.
And I am revising my opinion.
It IS full of conscious Beatles-rip-offs. And that's a great idea.
It IS their Sgt. Pepper-album!
