Yes, this is great - so Bernhard, you will be more involved with Alphaville again? This is really good, some people out there thought that you were on your way out, and even more since the Atlantic Popes started, but I´m glad this is not so.

Hi Bernhard! I'm a little synthesizer freak who would like to know: Are you creating all of your work on a computer now!? I remember you wrote something about using plug-in FX! If you're using the Logic software, how is it?? Co's I'm working with a older Hardware sequencer (roland) and I'm thinking about switching over to Logic! would you recommend it?? or should I invest in a new sequencer? @alpha-x: I love the last Wolfsheim-Album...every song on it...and "summer moves on" a-ha.
We like to be independent and the net gives us the chance to stay like that...to sell the cd in normal recordstores, you need a big record-company....they are no fun
@avil: I went to the same school as frank....so I met him when I was eleven...but we didnīt talk to each other then..
I met marian in berlin when I was 19 ...we met in a flat of a friend ....really long story...................
@spawn: hmm you are using a pc...you should also try cubase then...as far as I know thatīs better for pc. iīm using a mac, very reliable for making music. MAC!!!!
I also got the AN1x, itīs great...but the NORDLEAD is better I think...itīs for sure easier to use...yeah go on with your music!

>>I found out: itīs not the equipment that counts, itīs the idea<<
True, but I think the right equipment helps one alot with creating the idea
I agree that the Nordlead is easy to use, but the An1x is just as easy ... when you don't include hardcore matrix programming

Bernd,
what inspires you when you write music for AP/AV
A question, which is turning in my mind for years:
When we listen to your songs itīs easy to hear, that you have a huge talent. Now, when I listen to the charts there are a lot of songs making millions, but they sound like easy to be made by you...have you never thought about making a hit in a few minutes and get the money for this?
And another one: What is the best time on a day to make music for you? It sounds like the night...?
Bernd:
Back in december 1996 at the first Alphaville party in Berlin, we heard a version of Wishful Thinking similar to the early live version, that was never released, with a similar intro that of the live version.
Is it possible to get this somehow?

Hello everybody!
@avihai: AP is only available online:
www.atlanticpopes.de (Germany)
www.hotstuff.se (Europe)
www.adifferentdrum.com (ROW)
@alpha-x: that depends...sometimes itīs just the knobs of my nordlead telling my: "time to fiddle"....sometimes itīs the bad weather...sometimes itīs a good song on the radio....if I could only answer this question..
@Stefan: I know what you mean...I think the same sometimes. But the most simple sounding songs are the most difficult to create. Believe me!
Yes Iīm a nightworker...I tried to change it , but I get this creative kick at 11.00 pm...whatever I do.
@wii: you are probably talking about the first demoversion produced in France....somewhere on a hidden tape in my studio. letīs see!?
@SPAWN: hi you little synthfreak...ther will be pictures...but itīs not at all spectacular.

Thanks syntetico, but I've made up my mind! maybe Akai is leading regarding samples but the A3000 is much better than the S-2000 regarding ease of use, quality of sound, and FX! I checked them out last night at a friend of mine who owns both.

Iīm an AKAI addict...since 13 years...although Iīm using basically the samplecell inside my Protools TDM-System nowadays.
If you are used to work with emax, you should really think about another EMU-sampler...donīt know which one...cause they are considered to have the best sound.

Hi everybody
this is the third time that I try to post a message to this certain topic. Hey Willy, the system doesnīt want ma answers...the third night in a row..doesnīt matter ...next try.
@wii/AV_defender: You probably know "Back to the future"....Yes if I would have the chance to go back and correct a few things in the past....I would do it.
But it wouldnīt make sense to do it again...that would be boring. Like in this other movie (I donīt know the english name) where this guy has to repeat and live the same day over and over again.
1984 was fantastic, and I wouldnīt talk to all of you, if it wouldnīt have happend. But this is 2001...and itīs fantastic as well.

@spawn: I donīt know the S 2000. I only worked with S1000/1100/3000
But I think itīs easy to use, very logical...but if you are used to handle an emax, you should stick to EMU....different philosophy of handling.
And they all sound the same these days...more or less.

@Nicka: I do not have alterior motives to embarass you...you paranoid person you...I think it would be cool to know if The Greatest Bernd and Marian and/or other band members have played jokes on each other...like put toilet paper all over each others houses or anything like that

Kind regards

Is there any "holy" av-song, which is not aloweded to be coverd?

Yeah! I asked that about 10 pages ago hehe...I remember a prank I played on some friends some years ago..We (About 13 of us) went to the movies..We all sat in the front of the theatre...Two of them left to go get refreshments and when they did...the rest of us got up and moved to the back of the theatre and slumped down in our chair...So when the other two came back they couldn't find us...it was so funny watching them looking for where we were in the dark trying to whisper our names to find us and the other people saying SHH!! to them...they got frusterated thinking they were in the wrong theatre so they went back out of the theatre...when they did that the rest of us got back up and went back to the original seats...so when they got back we acted like we were there the whole time...It was so comical..

I noticed you used the word "bloody" on the e-groups today too...*Wondered where you got these phrases from* Pretty soon you will be a true Scot saying "Sod Off", "gadge", and "wanker" hehehe...Or are you doing a Brit?? If that is the case.."Spot On", "Cheerio" and "It's tea time" =)
(Me post to the e-group still hasn't surfaced..I think Tobi has something against me) If I were British, I would probably say Pish Posh here...But I am not British LOL

@Bernhard:i have a little question that i have asked basically all people who has children...tell me, whats it like being a dad and what was your feelings like when you got your first/second child?
also i'd like to say a big thanx that you appeared on the party, and thanx for the autographs=)
I'm just a shadow-You are the light
I made this topic sticky, so it will always stay on top.
TO BERNHARD: Do you know if Marian Gold have any education. If so, what is he educated for?
Also, the same question of Frank... wich gymnasial education did he get?
Adiville
02 Oct 2002, 19:15
Didnt Marian study art ?
Stefan : It is just a rumour of course.
You've never met Bernd and his girlfriend.....
marian studied art, and also passed High School...Frank studied music science (and Psychology) if I remember right...
As much as I know, Frank has got a higher degree in public administration (he himself mentions it at his own homepage - only in German[wink])
But please, correct me if I'm wrong.
[wave]
what does public administration mean?
Working in certain offices (e.g. local governments, ministries, land registry, etc.).
But I don't know exactly what Frank really does. All I know is that he lives in Köln, but from 1991 or so he spent about 6-7 years in Paris to enrich his knowledge in arts.
yeah, I've read that too...but I had also the picture that last year he moved back to Paris for a few months cause he liked it so much...I'm not sure though...
As much as I know he left France in 1998, since then he lives in Köln.
yes, he left France, but didn't he move back for a few months a couple yrs back or so, even when his main homeplace is in Köln...?
I don't know any detail about it, but it can surely be true.
Bernhard Lloyd
31 Oct 2002, 03:39
@AV_defender: i donīt think that you can describe those feelings...itīs fot sure outstanding...especially when they are born...but in general for me as a dad itīs a feeling of responsibility....to let them grow up...to show them the world ...but i try to leave them their own perception....which is quiet difficult sometimes...and to be honest...sometimes they are just getting on my nerves[banghead]
betwen the second and the first child is no big difference....you just think that when the second child arrives: "i know how it is" BIG ERROR...everything is different
@hardin: marian, frank and me have basically the same education, weīgot abitur, meaning we finished gymnasium....frank and marian did some studies ...but at least marian never finished...the last thing i know about frank is that he lived in cologne...havenīt heard from him for a while

I know what you mean Bernd.....about the difference between the 1st and the 2nd child.....
My parents could never guess how different my younger sister will be - comparing to me.....
She is, what people call, SPECIAL :-)))
She's the most beautiful gift my parents could ever give me !!!
oh yeah, tell me about it :) my dad thought I was a real devilchild, and that's why he was not so keen on the idea of a second child, but he was least expressed relieved when it turned out that she was obedient and beautiful - far from stubborn and ugly me :) sure me and my sis have a lot in common (like for example our little harmless maliciousness and yeah, she can be stubborn), but otherwise we are quite like day and night =) and thatä's good - who could stand two exemplars of me :)) and besides, it makes life more exciting!
Good luck with your kids Bernd!
it's great to have younger brother or sister.......
yeah, it can b a real blessing, sometimes :)....then there are other times ;))...
