8 covers of Big In Japan

Swedish television will soon broadcast a show called "Stor i Japan" (translation: Big in Japan). In every show, a swedish artist will perform a cover of Big in Japan (totally 8 shows) One of them will be Ane Brun, this will be released on iTunes. I have the name of the rest of the artists, but not here right now.

The show will be shown on swedish channel 6 on sundays.

hmm.. She has very good voice, She made very interessting interpretation, but i preffer BIJ in original rythm. This Big In Japan is very good in Her style of miusic. You have right Peter,.. She recorded very good cover, but not for me (i'm diffrent [smile2]). Anyway She is very nice singer :)

I also agree that Ane Brun's version of Big in Japan is far too slow and painfully drawn out thus changing the essence of the song in the process. She has a beautiful voice and does well with slow songs that are intended to be sung slowly.

BIG IN JAPAN

I've got a friend who went to Japan to see if he could get Big. He still looks a bit skinny to me, but Swedish TV6 will soon run the show anyway. Here's my (and Pers) contribution: Big in Japan by Alphaville.

I'm going to do two drum&voice&noise shows in Sweden, starting on Saturday in Stockholm. Later this fall I'll hopefully go to England and Germany supporting, respectively, Camera Obscura and Logh. The plans are still a bit too fragile to be announced like this, but I try very hard to practice positive thinking. Like this weather for example, now is time to make new music instead of running around on beaches, having picnics and late nights on balconies.

Ane Bruns tv-låt stor hit på nätet

Ane Brun är en av åtta artister som fått göra covers på Alphavilles gamal hit "Big in Japan" till TV 6:s program "Stor i Japan". Nu ligger låten etta på Itunes singellista i Sverige.

- Vi visste att låten blev bra när vi spelade in den och att vara med i ett populärt tv-program är den bästa PR en låt kan få i dag, så det är ingen jätteöverraskning, säger Ane Bruns manager Mikael Gustavsson.

Än så länge finns låten bara i digital form, men Mikael Gustavsson utesluter inte att den kommer att inkluderas som bonusmaterial på ett kommande album.

Den 3 oktober spelar Ane Brun i Stockholm och den 5 oktober i Göteborg. Sedan drar hon vidare och gör ett tiotal spelningar i USA där hennes senaste album "Changing of the seasons" släpps den 14 oktober.

DK GÖR COVER PÅ ALPHAVILLES "BIG IN JAPAN"

Doktor Kosmos har just spelat in en cover på anarkistkollektivet Alphavilles odödliga syntklassiker "Big in Japan". Låten kommer att vara signaturmelodi till finalavsnittet av tv-serien "Stor i Japan" på TV6 där Jens från Bring Me The Fucking Riot Man och hans polare Sebastian försöker bli kändisar i Japan. Henrik Schyffert är också inblandad i det hela. Men hur? Vem vet. Nu är klockan 17:00 och jag får gå från jobbet.
