Time to feel the love again
It´s wednesday and i´m on my way to my 13th Alphaville concert and i feel so happy to see them live agein. It was a half year since last time, and that´s to long time. Far to long time ;)
The train i´m travelling with are on the way to Trelleborg in Sweden where i will take the boat to Rostock in Germany for the concert. Before I went on board the boat I meet two other people, Roger and Ingela from Sweden that was on the way to see Alphaville for the first time. They are friends to Anders Fredlund and i have helped with ticktes to the NDR Park Festival 2006 where Alphaville will perform a short gig.
Back in Germany
Early in the morning we gott on land agein and this time in Germany. Last time I was in Germany for a Alphaville concert was 2004 at the wounderful 20th Anniversary party that they had in Berlin.
This day was a holiday, it was Ascension Day in Germany and no buss or train was on the way this early in the morning, but the weather was very nice and time we had lots of so we started to walk to Rostock centrum, around 10 km. But we hade a nice time talking about old swedisch movies that we laughed over thru the years. Ingela did´n know that see sould see Alphaville live this day. It was a surprise to her from Roger. So I hade to change my clodes before i meet them and icouldn´t talk about Alphaville on the walk to the centrum. But it was nice anyway ;) After the walk and in the centrum they walked to their hotel and and me to my hotel that not was far away from the festival.
Pre-party and beer
After a nice shower it was time for some food at the hotel. And of course a big beer, this time a Rostocker and after that another one. After several beers i should meet Roland and Ingela at there hotel in the centrum of Rostock so I took the buss to the centrum. There i was looking for a open pub and that was very difficult to find this day when they hade holiday, but it was hard to find a pub at all. Strange town, but anyway i found a resturant with nice bar inside. After some beers and drinks did i walk to the hotel where Roland and Ingela was. They hade found earlyer this day a shop that hade open so they could bay som beer. Now i hade our black/blue 20th Anniversary t-shirt on me and Ingela understand what would happen this evening. So now it was a lot´s of Alphaville and 80´s talk in the hotel-rom together with cold beer. The time run away.
Hurry hurry
We hade a nice time with lots of talking and the time run away, so we hade to make us on the way to the festival. With some help from some helpful people we got right on the S-Bahn (the train). But we where late and when we was on the right station we jumpt of the train and i feelt me worried if we scould get in time to the show. I said “let´s take a taxi so we get right” and one taxi was left for us at the station. In the taxi the taxi-driver had the radio on and it was live from the festival and they talked about some band from the 80´s. I just feelt to run now, but the taxi driver made a great race for me ;) We run into the festival and i went in front of the scen thru the crowed and got almost all the way. The compere still talked so i had not missed the beginning of the show and i was so happy. I was no calmed but hade to scream abit just to show that i was here, and than Katrin came and said hello and said i should join her and Ivoton in the front of the show so i did that of course. So now we where three Alphaville fans there.
Showtime!
And than was it time for the show to begin, and thay began with my song, my heart-song, the best song ever – A Victory Of Love!!! I just screamed like a crazy like i always do, and i missed Fredlund by my side. But i was in heaven, totally in heaven!! What to say..what a start, love or like in german “liebe”! Badly it was not dark enough to see the lightshow. Anyway i was totaly in the show. I was singing along the songs and screamed like it should be on a concert, but some in the audience was abit angry or just laught over me, but how cares? I was on my 13th Alphaville concert and than i do what i want. We got the chance to listen to several song from 1984 and I think the rest of the audince hade a great time and loved to hear the songs. Marian hade a great time on stage i think, he laught and smiled all the time. Ha was in good mood so to say. And after seven songs and Forever Young, Marian and Co went of the stage. But we wanted more so the hole audince screamed “one more time” and not many minutes later they came back on stage to performe one more song. Apollo was the last song and i have always liked to hear that song last on the shows, a great song to end it to. The show was 45 minutes like it was planed to be was to short but what to do, i hade a great time and it was a great concert. Of corse i would like to hear some new songs or some old songs that never been performed before live, but that´s for the 14th Alphaville concert than. So just to hope for the best.
Afterparty!
After the show the first thing i did was to bay a cold beer and enjoy the show just seen. Meet Roland and Ingela later and she was so happy to have seen Alphaville live and she liked it alot. A dream hade come tru for her and she was so happy. Rest of the evening we drank beer and was sitting in the grass and talked. And of course was looking abit on the other bands that was playing, just having a nice time. Now after i heard that some have been backstage with Alphaville and later on there hotel around midnight. Would be cool to have been there but i have a great afterparty from Copenhagen 2004 fresh in my memories, and nothing will beat that part – ever!
The end of the show
After some houres sleep it was time to travell home agein, but made a stop in Copenhagen before that for another party. So what can i say over this trip and show? To short, but great anyway. Great songs, but would liked to hear some new songs. Marian was happy and in good mood during the show. Ingela was happy to have seen them live for the first time in her life. I have new memories. A nice trip and a great concert! And over that a new album to looking forward to this year and hopeful some more concerts by the best band ever – Alphaville!
