Draw & Win
We added a guestbook today and to encourage people to draw we started a competition. The member who draws the best picture in the book, will win a rare Antilles vinyl and/ or a free exclusive fanclub membership to New Horizons. You may create as many entries you like, so start drawing and let us see your creations, you can draw whatever you like. Please post your username in the textbox after the drawing. Thanks.
A members-only poll will decide the winner, will be announced later.

Katrin, the idea is that you draw something, not just write, just do it again. It´s just for fun anyway.....

How do you make the line thicker (as thick as me)? I can't seem to do it!

Do you click in the box to alter the number? If so, all I get is 0. something and 1
Kaz, don´t you see the slider ? You can slide left to right, right to left to change the values.
Ah, it slides? Told you I was thick (or stressed to hell and not even seeing the nose in front of my face!)!

? mh, for some reason it doesn't save the drawings anymore... tried it twice - now I'm bored with it - wont draw it again :(

Please try again Anja, the more, the better - it took my quite a while to make it work, so I hope people use it.
I think it's really cool.

[watching] hmmm... what happens when you get a message saying that your drawing has reached the size limit and that you should save it or start it over? if you save it, can you add something or does it get published like it is?
...And can a wrong entry be deleted by the user?

Malila, you can check the size as you go, I will increase it to 300KB, that should be enough, I can delete entries on request.

When it redraws the pic for you, does it always leave it looking incomplete? I have a road sign in mine, but when it got redrawn, all the letters were incomplete!
Okay, it has a certain "aged" look to it, but is that normal?

I think that happens when you use the "undo" feature ... some traces get lost.

I think... everything is okey, and idea is great! ...but... the one thing is bad... When you draw the (for example) text, your hand is faster than application. I mean the program can't save all the pixels (vectors), which you draw. The proof for that is my picture in guestbook... ("come to the summer, weeellcome" with the sun in the background)
There are no problems as far as I can see except when using the UNDO button, which does mess up, so I think I will remove that option. Mateusz, didnīt you UNDO at some point during your drawing ?

I didn't use the UNDO button, when I was drawing the text. But: "doesn't matter".... Guestbook is ok!... :) Very, very nice idea, very original... I have never seen something as that... [wink]
Ok, my favorite so far is #17 - beautiful work from Peter, lots of detail and well executed, canīt wait to see that poll when we are ready.

Badly everytime you click at the UNDO-buttom not just the last draught dissapera, stuff from everywhere get lost also. And to wright a text are also hard....at my drawing you donīt see what I have write....but i did write it at "comments" also....

LOL! No it's a hot dog with fries and donuts on the side! There was supposed to be more of that white stuff (don't know the english word for it) up in the corner but for some reason there was only a minority left of it in the saved version.

Gaaaaaaahhh! This friggin sucks! It doesn't save everything even though I'm far from using all the available k! It just spent A LOT of time making a beautiful airplan but it isn't complete now!

Just for the record, this is how I had made it when I pushed the 'save' button.

1. Is this a screenshot exactly from before you saved the drawing ?
2. Did you use the UNDO button at any time ?
A test below - look at entry #26 - the live version looks almost exactly the same as the screenshot I took right before saving, a little loss of detail, but it's not much.

1. Yes, well actually it's a recreation but it is an EXACT such. The strange thing also that there is one of the three grey dots of smoke left in the image even though that was one of the last things I did. The other green dots was something I made prior to that one. So, it seems to kinda pick and choose which details it doesn't wanna keep.
2. Several times actually. But on the first drawing I made I didn't touch that button at all yet I lost some of my sprinkles, which was the very last thing I did on that one though.
The only thing I see missing from yours is the dot northeast above the 'a' in 'dream'.

My girlfriend Heta drew it with her Wacom tablet :) Though the quality got worse after she saved it ;)

Really? I think it looks amazing, we have a Wacom at work, maybe I should try this, impossible to draw like that using a normal mouse.

I'm not familiar with this technology, but I guess that if I'm used to drawing like a pig on a regular sheet of paper, the result will be identical on the tablet ?!
