The best German band*, one of the best in
the whole wide world ! True DM followers
who developed their own style .
p.s. Always reminds me of Beborn and And1 .

*Well ... without counting Alphaville

I haven´t heard that much by Camouflage but I have the CD "Voices and Images" and CD-single "Stranger thoughts". "The great commandment" is great and especially the long version of "Stranger thoughts" is really good.

Camouflage are very talented when it comes
to live performances, try to catch some
mp3 from their sites . Suspicious Love live

Yes, they are great. I love everything they release. And I'm only wodering why 'Spice crackers' - their last album - is out print for over a year. Never mind - go and get their greatest hits package, which contains also DVD. It's great!

Yeah, they have done some great songs: Love is a shield, That smiling face (where the first 10 seconds are really great <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> ), Suspicious love and (Heaven´s not) A place in China.

Their first album, Voices and images, is their best and most even album. I think it would be time for them to release a new one soon! Don´t you also think so?

I like The Great Commandment :)
It's on a 80's collection I own...

I listen to them from their very beginning. And really love them, although 'Meanwhile' is (almost) totally shitty. And yes, 'Voices and Images' is a must have.

When I think of Camouflage, I cannot stop myself from camparing them to De/Vision. Boy, these bands sound so similar! Even the vocals are almost the same. Which is good.

"The Great Commandment" is really good I think! I've got an cassette with different 80's songs, and it's there too...I've got also another song on that cassette, and the singer sounds very alike, but I don't know if it's Camoufage too, I don't even know the songs name...

Camouflage's new album "Sensor" will be released soon. You can listen to a snippet of the new album at their homepage. I think it sounds fantastic!

The site has no sense of navigation, where the heck are the sound samples?

Jonatan

You just have to click "english" and the samples are on the main page. Do not use the buttons below the page!

Got it:

Sounds like they always have, very german and very boring. "The great commandment" is the only song I can listen to.

I see 'very German' as something good. 80-90% of the bands I like sound "German".

Sorry, but I think that here my IE doesn't work well, because I didn't found anything.

After 3 times trying the search he came up with a result...

Excerpt from an interview with Camouflage:

Alphaville and Boytronic
Around Stuttgart, Camouflage may have been the first group making this particular type of synthesizer pop music. But unknown to them at the time; they were not alone in Germany.
- I remember the first time we heard about Alphaville, Heiko laughs. We had just played our first or second concert, and suddenly we realized that there is a band on a TV-show called Alphaville and we just couldn’t believe it ‘cause we were so naive - we thougth we were the only ones doing music like that. I think we even spoke about how it was ”senseless to go further now” because there is already a band like that. And of course there was Boytronic as well, who already had a big hit one year before our first single came out.

http://www.releasemagazine.net/ has the whole interview.

hehe.... good thing that they didn't truly decide to stop just because Alphaville and Boytronic were already making this kind of music! Funny though as I wouldn't consider them even remotely related other than the synthesizers......

The singer and the drummer from Camouflage were at the show last night...I met them when I was backstage [smile2]. Being me, the most brilliant thing I could come out with was "hallo, ich heiße Mags...ich liebe ihr Musik" [laugh]. They were so nice though...bowed, said "vielen Dank" several times...way nice guys! How cool is that...[bouncy]

@Mags

That is COOL! Marcus Meyn is a nice guy but I didn't know they have a drummer. Live drummer perhaps?

I was at Camouflage's concert last night!

it was quite funny, when the microphone was directed to the crowd to sing The Great Commandment and the most of people were silent because didn't know the words (including me). or was I standing in such place where nobody knew the words? [smile]

Thats cool Alien !!!
How come people dont know the lyrics of GC (including you ?!) ?? such a cool song !!!!!!!!
Here's something from me [wink] :

The great commandment / Camouflage

Some people suppress you
they partch you
and reap a disaster
Reeducation for the infants
who demanded for an innocent instance

The great commandment
shows the contempt
between the world and their embarrassing pavement
Believe the scholars
read the readings
realize the man who says anything

The great commandment

The needies believe you
they treat you
like survivors of a disaster
Reeducation for the infants
who demanded for an innocent instance

The great commandment

oh, that's a usual story... since last year I was going to find the lyrics of my fave Camouflage songs to learn them. Needless to say I haven't found the time to do that! [laugh]

Thank you, Adi... next time when Camouflage comes here, I'll be able to sing alone something! [smile2]
