Actually my favorite Howard Jones song is his cover version of "Road to Cairo" featured as a b-side on the single; "lift me up". Its a wonderful classic song, and he covers it so well.
Oh, Howard is DEFINATELY my alltime fave artist!!! He is the BEST!!! Among my fave songs (if I now could choose) are at least "Like to get To Know You Well", "Always Asking Questions", "No one Is To Blame" (NOT the Phil Collins version) and "Everlasting Love"...they are SO brilliant...and ofcourse "Why Look For The Key"..among the most spiritual songs of his...it's wonderful...
Along with Frank (:)), Howard is one of my biggest ideals in pianoplaying<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>...just LOOK (I mean; listen) at him...WOW!

I ordered the new DVD on Amazon yesterday. I can't wait to see/hear it! [smile]

The 20th anniversary DVD is simply fantastic! All those who love 80s synth music should go out and buy it! Howard Jones is in superform in this show. I love it when the artists bring the audience into the songs by letting them sing choruses and stuff and I have never seen anyone do it better than HoJo at this anniversary event. Watching this DVD really makes me wish that I could have been at the show...but this is the next-best thing and I only wish Alphaville could release their 20th anniversaryshow on DVD as well. BUY THIS DVD NOW!!!

Howard Jones will play at the Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards 2005 and I will be there [wink]
Some DVD impressions:
Just the "retro"-part of the 20th anniversary DVD is worth every cent: Howard performing
virtuously between analogue gear (Moog Prodigy 2x, Roland Jupiter 8, Juno 60, TR 808, Sequential Circuits Pro One [tongue]) like in his early years, accompanied by a mixing,
effects-performing guy and that pantomimic performer - fantastic!
Also the acoustic performances, Nena and Midge Ure appearing, the interviews (Rupert Hine
and Stephen W. Tayler for instance) make you quickly forget about the weak moments of the
concert.
Musically and optically outstanding: Nick Beggs
(Ex-and-reunited Kajagoogoo (yes, reunited!))
on Chapman Stick and Bass.
Very recommendable!
It's been almost 3 years since anyone wrote in this topic! Since then I have been listening more and more to Howard Jones and I like him even more now than before. In 3 weeks I am going to see him live for the first time and I can't wait....it's gonna be fantastic!! Howard Jones will hold a 25th anniversary concert in September....I hope the DVD is out soon after as I won't be able to go to the show...
My favourite HoJo songs now are (in no particular order):
Let the people have their say
Tomorrow is now
Someone you need
What is love
New song
Things can only get better
Like to get to know you well
Life in one day
Hide and seek
Lift me up
Noone is to blame
The prisoner
Pearl in the shell
You know I love you don't you
Well.....I should have experienced Howard Jones live for the first time last year, but as his very special Roland Phantom broke down on it's way to Esbjerg I had to wait another year. I must say that it was well worth waiting for. That man is simply amazing. I am becoming a bigger fan of his for each day that passes by. In fact he might become my favourite artist because he is a fantastic musician and he is releasing new songs on a regular basis
So you just saw him live, Poul?
I saw him at the 80s festival in Esbjerg a month ago. Now I'm considering to take the trip to his album release concert in IndigO2 in November as the AV anniversary party is a no-go for me in December....
Well....I decided not to go to the releaseparty in London. Instead I have just preordered the limited special edition of "Ordinary heroes". It will only be sold as preorders until September 30 and the special edition will include the names of all the fans who ordered it. It's also going to be in a special packaging and will include a bonus CD of exclusive songs and alternative mixes. The album is scheduled to be released at the end of this year...
When is the releaseparty ?
well.....it's actually 3 releaseconcerts....
Nov 6: IndigO2, London
Nov 12: Manchester
Nov 13: Cardiff
Hmm, A-ha the 4th and Howard Jones the 6th, that could be cool [smile2]
I received the special edition of "Ordinary heroes" last Saturday. Only 500 copies were made and all included a personal message from Howard and the CD boxes were packaged by himself and his family. I just ordered the new DVD from the 25th anniversary show and an extremely limited promo single of "Soon you'll go" which is the first single from the album. I LOOOOOVE artists who release stuff on a regular basis!!!! Right now Howard Jones is my favourite artist.....Alphaville need to "work" to get back on top as OMD are also pushing for the top. The next albums from the 2 groups will decide the contest!
As for the new Howard Jones album it is very different from his usual stuff. This time "it's all about the lyrics" as he said himself in the online releaseparty for the album. There are no synth on it, but I like it a lot anyway because the arrangements are beautifull and his voice and the lyrics are great!

Howard Jones is one of my favourites as well. I need to update my library!
What is love, New song, Everlasting love, Like to get to know you well, Noone is to blame etc.
I really liked Howard Jones back in the 80´s.
So did I....'Like to get to know you well' were a huge song to me back then.
The 12" album were my favourite piece!!!
Just ordered the limited edition boxset including remastered editions of "Human's Lib" and "Dream into action" which I consider to be Howard's two best albums ever. The boxset cost only £1 more (£25) than the 2 albums bought together (£12+£12). It comes with an extra live CD and is limited to 1000 numbered copies. Next year Howard plan to release a couple more remastered CDs....
Howard's plans for 2011 includes special CD’s of 12” and alternative mixes and rarities along with CD reissues of ‘Cross That Line’, ‘One To One’ and ‘In the Running‘.
Do you know what's included in the 12". I already have the one from 1988, with the red cover.
No not yet Willy....I will write here as soon as I know more!
