question about So Long Celeste

Hello Everybody!

I'm a new fan of Alphaville- ever since they performed here in South Africa in November! Brilliant show!

Since then, I've been trying to get as much info as possible about the band and Marian's solo works.

My question is: does anyone have some thoughts or ideas as to what the title "So Long Celeste" refers to?

well, it could be a simple as a girl, or have a deeper meaning, celeste meaning celestial, heavenly. goodbye to the sun, stars? perhaps saying good bye to the time of his life when he actually believed &quot;this baby's gonna be a STAR!?&quot; a loss of belief in someone or in one's one inner spark of the divine? saying goodbye to the heavenly notion of utopia? or just me reading too much into things as usual?

The future exists, first in Imagination, then in Will, then in Reality.

SLC came out more or less the time my ex-wife split up. Her name Celeste.

cool! mystery solved! It's about Major and his ex! ;) Isn't it funny how music can parallel our lives.
For instance, I think it's interesting that TBB came out when I myself was going through a jazz phase, only I didn't find out about TBB until years later.
