Very smoth,and the lyrics is so good.

Yeah its a great song. It seems allmost misplaced on Prostitute. It stands out as a much lighter popsong, than the otherwise darker tone of Prostitute.

BTW, its Bernd's favorite song from that album.

I had a few thoughts on this when I first saw the lyric crossed out...maybe a bit mad but...

Maybe Marian feels differently to the way he felt when he wrote that. Maybe he feels he does need to be the stranger he is in his impossible dream nowadays. Maybe he feels he needs to be a poet, hero and something more than just having to be himself. Who knows what goes through his mind? One day there'll be an answer...a Marian style answer but still an answer...

I love The Impossible Dream, it means a lot to me, but still I don't completely understand it...I always wondered, is Marian saying that he has achieved this impossible dream, or is it something that he still strives for?

Anyway I had similar thoughts to Kaz about it being crossed out though...since Alphaville's music has changed since the beginning, the earlier albums are more about the dream while Crazy Show seemed full of less phantasy and more reality....I thought of Ship of Fools: when your dreams come true, is it good for you?

Who knows, dreams change, maybe the impossible dream isn't a dream anymore, but reality...and maybe now that it is real it seems different than it did when it was only a fantasy...[question]

To be honest, when I saw the lyric crossed out in January, I also thought of Ship Of Fools. I agree that CS is more realistic. Marian told me that it's a kind of diary to him, so therefore more rooted in reality?

I think Marian is still trying to either prove something to himself or feels that he needs to continue to strive after his impossible dream in some way.
