Another band/album I really have to present and recommend here is Red Hot Chilly Peppers' album "Californication"'99. As I hadnt heard anything from them besides their singles before which didnt take my breath away I was very struck when my girlfriend played the album to me. It's...excellent! Veery different, veery special. Interesting, reflective lyrics, and a fantastic own crossover-style. You MUST listen to "Easily", "the velvet glove" and "Emmit Remmus". These are pearls far from any mainstream and nearly anything heard before!
Weather you'll like it or not - it's something which will make you think (even more:-) )and listen to it again.
It's allways great to see how real individualism flowers in some corners of nearly all styles in music, even despite the power of the mainstreamy record companys!
We are what we are - the meaning of life
I have that CD... and it's really interesting and so different from everything they've released before... I bought it then only because of "Around the World" but the other songs were really good... I liked it very much.

Californication (the song) is quite ok. But after a while itīs just as not-pleasant to hear as their other material.

I'm not speaking of the SONG - it's oo long and too static. I am speaking of the album which is worth a discovery.

"Californication" is kinda boring song... but the video for it was quite funny.

The album...have no idea of how it is.
But the video for the song is pretty well done, like the colours!

RHCP TEEN MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah right,of course they are. What songs have you heard to formulate that opinion? RHCP are some of the finest musicians on the planet and altho theres a lot of their songs that dont suit my personal taste their musicianship is outstanding.

i would certainly not call RHCP teen music..i mean what teens listen to changes in somekind of fashion..just take the mid 90's when metallica were so huge among young ppl..were they teen music too then??not a rockgroup(or whatever??)?
the group teens listen to changes just like the one actor teens think look the best..when titanic was no 1,leo was soooooo cute(according to teens ive met,not for me) and now...well,i dont know, but its certainly not leo anymore..cause he's too fat

Though their new album has some songs which remind a bit of Californication it's, once more, so different from what they did before! "By the way" (the song) is f****** great and there are so beautiful ballads, nearly a bit BeeGees style, and then songs that remind of Emmit Remus (Californication), then a song that plays with Reggea-elements, etc...a great work! Smooth, interesting, independent and very mature!

Just heard "The Zephyr Song" And I loved it...I'm not much into RHCP but that song is really good...You can see the video here...

Reminds me of an old James Bond movie intro from the 70's
I like their Californication-album, and I have seen RHCP live in Oslo, Norway 2 times actually. The guy on bass is a funny-looking guy.
RHCP are really one of my fav. american bands. I love the Californication album. What do you think of the music video for Californacation?
I don´t know if I have seen that video (??)
But I can see that the guys are happy about their lead-guitarist is back in the band.
That´s the video where Anthony (the singer) is in some kind of a video game
